STATION RECORDS - COMMON QUESTIONS

A card-based resource management game set in The Great Game universe. You play a Program Director at Hyperion Dynamics, running a classified weapons program from a black-budget research facility. Manage Funding, Personnel, Specimens, Intel, and Hardware. Advance a prototype through three stages of development. Keep the Exposure meter from hitting ten. Finish the weapon. Keep the secret. Survive the Company.
You draw from a shuffled event deck of corporate memos, field operations, black-market offers, and counter-espionage threats, and choose one of three responses to each. Choices cost resources, produce gains, and shift the Exposure meter. Between events, you spend resources to advance your chosen weapon project toward Stage 3. Clear Stage 3 and the weapon is operational. Reach Exposure 10, lose all Personnel, or fail a critical threat event, and the program is terminated.
Five weapon projects, each with a distinct resource profile, difficulty curve, and strategic identity. The event deck reshuffles every run and the same event reads differently at DARK versus CRITICAL Exposure. A fusion-laser build plays nothing like a bioweapon build, and neither plays like trying to channel an anomaly you do not fully understand. Completing one project is the start of the game, not the end of it.
No. The game stands alone. You learn the setting through the work: Board directives, intercepted counter-espionage traffic, rumors about an incident at a colony called Eris, references to a senior program nobody will confirm exists. The lore rewards returning readers without gating anything for new arrivals. Your facility is one node in a larger machine. You do not need the map to run the node.
Difficulty varies by project. PROMETHEUS and HELIOS lean on Hardware and Funding, with stable economies and manageable Exposure, the recommended starting point. ICARUS and TARTARUS push you into Specimen management, where a full storage bay at end of turn is a problem of its own. CHIMERA is the hardest program in the game and it is not trying to hide that from you. Start where you are comfortable. Finish where you are not.
Corporate dystopia, classified programs, black-budget logistics, and decisions delivered through memos with no signatures. Hyperion Dynamics sells civilization in public and treats people, secrets, and weapons as line items in private. You are not the soldier or the monster. You are the desk where the authorization lands.
